Job Description

The Richard Pate School is owned and operated by Pate’s Grammar School Foundation. It is a successful co-ed independent day school (Monday – Friday) for 3-11year olds. The school is set in a beautiful 11-acre semi-rural site in Leckhampton on the outskirts of Cheltenham. We offer children a broad education in modern, purpose-built facilities, which includes music, sport, art, languages and drama and a varied extra-curricular programme.

 

We are seeking a friendly, nurturing individual, who enjoys caring for children, to join our friendly Lunchtime Supervision team two days a week (Thursday and Friday) and help to ensure pupils’ safety and wellbeing across the lunchtime period.

While the post is being advertised for two days a week, there may be opportunities for additional hours on an ad hoc basis.

 

In summary the role is as follows:

  • A permanent, part-time, term-time only role (3.0 hours per week, 12.00-13.30, Thursday and Friday). There may be opportunities for additional hours on an ad hoc basis.
  • Being responsible for ensuring pupils’ safety and wellbeing across the lunchtime period, both in the dining hall and at play, while supporting their development.
  • Annual salary £1,627.55 including holiday pay.
  • Start date: as soon as possible

 

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Enjoy caring for children and supporting their development in a safe environment
  • Understand the importance of safeguarding and health and safety within a school environment, and be willing to adhere to relevant school policies
  • Have a positive, warm and friendly attitude and be flexible when priorities change
  • Be trustworthy, punctual and reliable.
  • Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team
  • Be able to follow instructions and communicate clearly
  • Be willing to participate in regular training to keep up to date with skills and knowledge (e.g. first aid, safeguarding)
  • Be respectful of the school’s aims and values
