Year 3 set off last week on a beautiful sunny day, to the Welsh village of Caerleon, which boasts the site of the remains of a Roman fort. We experienced a Roman boot camp, donned uniforms and practised battle formation, plus we also experienced life in a Roman barracks. We were then able to see the actual remains of the barracks, amphitheatre and even a Roman loo, although we didn’t fancy using it! The Roman coffin in the museum was fascinating and we all paid a visit to the gift shop. Everyone returned tired and happy from their busy day.
