Prep (Ages 4-7)

The Prep Department offers a warm, caring and nurturing environment in which each child feels secure, valued, stimulated and above all, happy.

Our broad and engaging curriculum ensures that pupils develop an early love of learning and are well prepared for their journey through the rest of the school.

A variety of teaching methods are applied to suit pupils of all abilities and key skills are developed through carefully planned activities.

From Reception onwards, children are organised into two classes which work closely together to plan and deliver the curriculum throughout their time in Prep.

The ratio of adults to children is very favourable enabling a high degree of individual attention.  Our experienced teaching staff and well-qualified teaching assistants ensure that children are supported or challenged when needed.

Open Mornings: Friday 6th and Saturday 7th February 2026

Come and join us at our next Open Mornings on Friday 6th February (a normal school working day) or Saturday 7th February. These are a great opportunity for families to come and meet staff and pupils, have a tour of the school and grounds, and learn about how we can provide the ideal start to your child’s education.

To book an appointment, please email office@richardpate.co.uk or call 01242 522086.

For Rendcomb College families

We are very saddened to hear the news that Rendcomb College will close at the end of this academic year. We understand that this is an extremely unsettling and stressful time for the pupils, families and staff affected and we are here to offer our support.

If you would like to arrange a meeting with our Headteacher, Mr Morgan, and have a tour of the school, please call 01242 522086 or email admissions@richardpate.co.uk
