Catering Assistant

 

The Richard Pate School is a successful co-ed independent day school (ages 3-11) in Cheltenham Gloucestershire. We are passionate about the quality of food we deliver to our pupils, and very proud of our in-house Catering Team. We are seeking someone who is friendly, enthusiastic and willing to learn, to join our catering team.


In summary the role is as follows:

  • 10 hours per week during term time.  Hours are worked flexibly across the week and there is potential for overtime. 
  • Annual Salary will be based on a starting hourly rate of £9.18 per hour, with a half-pay retainer for days not required to work over and above paid holidays.
  • As a member of a skilled, friendly team, led by the Catering Manager, that delivers over 350 lunches a day, you will be involved in all aspects of the running of the school kitchen.  Tasks you may assist with include: preparing and serving food, supervising in the dining room, washing up and cleaning.

 

To be successful in this role you must be:

  • A friendly, flexible team player with a ‘can do’ attitude. 
  • Willing to learn and prepared to ‘muck in’ where required.  While cooking skills are preferred, they are not essential as training will be provided for the right person, with opportunities for progression within the team.  
  • Committed to the aims and objectives of the School, in particular to deliver the best quality freshly prepared food to our pupils.
  • Committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of the School’s pupils and staff.
