IAPS Netball Tournament - Under 11

On Thursday 27th February, the U11A team drove to Millfield to compete in the IAPS netball tournament.  They came up against Millfield Prep school early on, who were the overall winners, but didn’t let that narrow defeat dampen their spirits or determination. Winning all other matches in their pool convincingly, they went through to the cup competition. RPS beat Taunton, the victors of the other pool, and progressed to compete in the semi-finals, playing for a place at the Nationals.

An abundance of determination, competitive etiquette and ambition were displayed and despite dominating play, the girls narrowly lost to Red Maids. They had one more match to claim their place at the Nationals. Both RPS and Blundells were highly motivated but nerves crept in and saw Blundells take the lead by 2 goals at the final whistle.

The girls were bitterly disappointed, but to their credit by the time they reached the bus they had their smiles back; reflecting on the superb standard of netball they played and the positive, resilient and courageous approach they demonstrated throughout the tournament.

Many thanks goes to all the supportive parents / cheerleaders who made the long trip and helped in their own special ways.
