Nursery

From 3 years

The Richard Pate Nursery is dedicated to providing the highest possible standards of early years care and education.

The Nursery is located next to the main school in its own grounds where the children enjoy free flow between the inside and outside areas.

We are registered with the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) are are regularly inspected under the same criteria as those used for OFSTED inspections.

All children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. The four guiding principles that underpin this are:

  • The Unique Child
  • Positive Relationships
  • Enabling Environments
  • Learning and Development

We support each child across three prime areas of learning:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language

and four specific areas:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

The children play and explore in their environment and we encourage them to 'have a go' and become creative thinkers with their own ideas.
