THE RICHARD PATE SCHOOL : UPDATED CALENDAR FOR OCTOBER
PARKING : Parents are reminded that it is an offence to obstruct the footpath and, following complaints from local residents, police will be patrolling and issuing tickets to offending vehicles. Please be considerate when collecting and dropping off your child.
Tuesday, 2nd October :
Harvest Festival Assembly for the whole school. We are encouraging children to bring gifts of fruit, vegetables, flowers and other produce. These can be brought to school by junior children on Monday 1st October, except Year 4 who will begin their day with a swimming session. Year 4 children can bring their gifts on the Tuesday.
The Prep. children bring their gifts in on Tuesday, 2nd October. The children process with their gifts into the hall and place them on the stage so should not be too heavy or bulky for them to carry.
On Wednesday 3rd October the fresh produce is to be distributed amongst the elderly residents in Pate’s Almshouse and Dowty House. The remainder will go to Cheltenham Community Projects and Trinity Church.
The children, where possible, will be personally involved in the act of giving; those in Year 4 will write letters to those receiving the gifts and some of our accomplished musicians will accompany Mr. Ingold and me to present them to the elderly.

7.30 p.m. Cheese & Wine Evening when Nursery Parents are invited to come and meet the staff who will be looking after their children this year.
Friday, 5th October: 6.30 / 8.30 p.m. ~ PTA Bingo Evening
Tuesday, 9th October : Choir out visiting Dean Close for Prep. Schools Choral Day
Years 3 & 4 Parents Evening from 4.00 / 7.30 p.m. and Year 5 until 8.00 p.m.
Thursday, 11th October: Yr. 2 visit to Birds of Prey Centre, Newent
Monday, 15th October : 7.15 p.m. PTA AGM
