Stained Glass Window

Everyone at the Richard Pate School is delighted to have a beautiful new stained glass window created by Mrs Michaela Marshall, mother of Daniel in Year 6. The window was started back in 2009 during the school's Creative Arts Curriculum Focus, when Mrs Marshall and Mrs Scarborough had the Year 4 and 5 children draw animals associated with our pond and woodland area. Those wonderful drawings then were then used as original templates for the glass cutting. Great effort and diligence was used to capture even the smallest of details, such as antennae and legs!

The school is hugely indebted to Mrs Marshall who has given her heart and soul to this project and created something which you might expect to see in a London art gallery.

The headmaster, Mr Robert MacDonald said, "I am tremendously proud of our children and this magnificent piece of artwork will be a lasting testament to that talent and commitment. Michaela Marshall has spent countless hours creating the window and words cannot express how grateful we are for her generosity. It seems quite fitting that Mrs Marshall has not only seen her three lovely boys come through our school but is also a past pupil of the Richard Pate School herself."
