Creative Arts Open Afternoon

The focus for the summer term was Creative Arts, and the work resulting from this was exhibited in an open afternoon for parents. There were huge willow-framed sea monsters, plasticine stop-frame animations, poetry, ceramics, decorated plates, paintings, hats, weaving, puppets, batik cushions, beach scene models, a Pollock-style splash painting, and a piece of framed art for every pupil in the school on the theme of "The Beach Scene" by Degas, the proceeds from the sale of which went to Acorns Children's Hospice. Visitors entering the school were entertained by our musicians, who also performed in various recitals during the afternoon. The Gloucestershire Echo covered the event on the front page and in a centre page spread.
